IMPORTANT DATES FOR 2026:
- Family information session:
- Thursday 12th February 2026 at 6:30pm.
- We recommend at least one parent/carer to attend. Children are encouraged to come along if they wish.
- Class commencement date:
- First Reconciliation and First Eucharist: Tuesday 24th February 2026 at 4:00pm. Class will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
- Confirmation: Wednesday 25th February 2026 at 4:00pm. Class will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church.
- No classes during school holidays between 7th and 19th April 2026 inclusive. Easter season: Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th April 2026 inclusive.
SACRAMENTAL MASS/SERVICE DATES FOR 2026:
- First Reconciliation Service: Tuesday 12th May 2026 at 4:00pm at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Ocean Grove, with Fr Linh Pham.
- First Eucharist Mass: Sunday 17th May 2026 at 9:00am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, Ocean Grove, with Fr Linh Pham.
- Confirmation Mass: Saturday 23rd May 2026 at 2:00pm at Holy Trinity Church, Queenscliff, with Bishop Martin Ashe and Fr Linh Pham.
The Parish offers a Sacramental Program to students not attending Catholic schools. The program usually commences a few weeks after Term 1 starts.
Classes are held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church (68 John Dory Drive, Ocean Grove) from 4:00pm to 5:00pm.
** This year in 2026, the program will offer six class sessions along with participation in four parish celebrations during weekend Masses. We warmly encourage families to experience these sacraments together within the parish community through these celebrations, as they are an important part of the program. Families may attend a weekend Mass at another church if that is more convenient, at any time before completing the program. Program class schedule is located below.
Parents and families are asked to submit an (online) enrolment form with supporting Sacramental Certificates before 15th December 2025 to register their child(ren).
We require a copy of your child(ren)’s Baptism certificate and any other Sacramental Certificate upon enrolment. Your child must be baptised prior to commencing the Sacramental Program.
The program fee is $100.00 per family. Note: this fee is subject to change. We kindly ask for the fee to be paid within 14 days of submitting your enrolment form and receiving availability confirmation from the parish office. Please do not make your payment until you have received the confirmation email from the parish office. Please contact the parish office if you have any questions or concerns.
Children can only receive one Sacrament per year. Our Sacramental Program is run by wonderful volunteers; however, our resources are limited and classes run at the same time.

Sponsors for Confirmation candidates:
- the Sponsor must be over the age of 16.
- the Sponsor must be Catholic faith, baptised and has received all of their Sacraments.
- Parents are unable to be their child’s Sponsor.
