October 2020: Kerin Fox has sourced these reflections on compassion from a recent retreat day led by Mercy Global Presence, and would like to share these with our faith community.
“Subject: Reminder: Mercy Global Presence Retreat Thursday 8 October
Dear MGP retreatants,
Margie and I are looking forward to spending the day with you all this Thursday reflecting on the Mercy Global Presence theme of “Deepening our relationship with the Cosmos”.
The retreat sessions follow the four-stage spiral process of Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects, indicated with times of the four sessions below:
12-12.45pm Knowing our Pain
2-2.30pm Seeing with new eyes
3.30-4pm Going forth (including a breaking bread ritual for which you will need to bring a small plate of bread).
All times given are AEDT (please check daylight savings time changes).
In between these sessions we will have solitary time to engage with the optional readings and practices we will send to you by email on the day. You may like to have a pen, journal, art materials etc with you for this solitary time.”
